Louisville's Abramson Gets IEDC Leadership Award

The International Economic Development Council has given Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson its 2007 Leadership Award for Public Service.

The award recognizes an elected official who has served as a committed advocate for economic development for at least 10 years in the public sector.

Past winners include Pennsylvania Gov. Edward Rendell and Riverside, Calif. Mayor Ronald Loveridge, according to a news release.

Abramson will receive the award during the IEDC's annual conference in Phoenix this September.

This is a very well deserved award. Congratulations Mayor Abramson!
